^Lot 1692 WWII GERMAN GENERAL'S TUNIC ALLEGEDLY BELONGING

TO GENERAL MAX VON SCHENCKENDORFF.This WWII German Wehrmacht General's tunic allegedly belonged to General Max von Schenkendorff. he was the Commander of Army Group Rear Area behind Army Group Center from March of 1941 until his death in July of 1943. He was a key figure in Operation Barbarosa, the invasion of Russia. The tunic is a deep sage green with a dark green collar featuring red and gold General's collar tabs. The classic gold and silver on red General's shoulder boards have 2 pips which is correct for his rank as of 1940. There is a gold on green General's eagle over the right breast pocket and the pocket itself has an original cloth German Cross in Gold sewn to it. Above the left pocket are six loops for a long medal bar. There are 2 pair of loops on the left breast pocket and one pair below. There are five gold pebble finished buttons down the front and one on each of the four flap pockets. The interior is rayon lined with a tag on the inside pocket that reads " Kuhn & Napnau Munchen ". There is a white tag inside the same pocket that reads " Kuhn & Napnau MUNCHEN HERRN Gen. v. Schenkendorff". After careful and repeated examination, our experts have concluded that this is an exceptionally well made reproduction tunic with an original award attached.
