Lot 1677 WWII GERMAN TROPICAL KHAKI INFANTRY TUNIC FOR AN

OFFICER CANDIDATE.A cotton khaki tunic with a dark green/black collar and flat sewn on collar tabs. The dark green/black shoulder straps are enlisted bordered in white with a silver bullion tape at the end indicating an officer candidate. There are 6 pebbled finish green painted buttons down the front with the same buttons on the 4 front pockets. The right breast has a flat weave panzer eagle on black, the left sleeve has a corporal chevron for less than 6 years of service, and the right sleeve has a specialty patch for a radio operator. The 2nd button hole has a Russian Front medal ribbon and the let breast pocket has a 1st Class Iron Cross beside a Black Wound Badge. There is no lining but very faded size markings may be seen on the inside left breast. CONDITION: tunic generally shows light overall wear with a few small sewn holes and some moth nips to the wool collar and shoulder straps. (02-24886/BF). NON-GUN. $700-1,100.
