^Lot 1652 GERMAN WEIMAR REPUBLIC POLICE SWORD BY WEYERSBERG.

A very fine German Weimar Republic Police sword measuring 39 1/2" overall with an etched 33 3/4" blade. The etching includes sprays of arms and foliate motifs. The spine is etched " PAUL WEYERSBERG & Co SOLINGEN ". Gilded hilt with a lion head quillon and shield langets. Plain knuckle bow with a well articulated "ruby" eyed lion pommel. Wire wrapped shark skin grip with a red and gold bullion knot attached. Black enameled scabbard. CONDITION: blade shows substantial original factory polish and the hilt shows light wear. Grip is solid and the knot has light wear. Scabbard retains 96% of its original finish. (02-25009/BF). NON-GUN. $400-600.
