Lot 1650 WWII GERMAN POLICE/SS OFFICER'S SWORD BY KREBS.

A very nice example of a WWII German post 1936 police and SS officer's sword measuring 35 7/8" overall with a single fullered plain 29 1/8" blade marked " PWT . DAN . KREBS . SOLINGEN (logo) ". Plated hilt stamped on the underside of the crossguard " SS " in a chamfered square. Plain knuckle bow with an oak leaf ferrule and serrated pommel cap. Wire wrapped black enameled wooden grip with central police eagle. Black enameled scabbard with " SS " marked plated throat and plated drag. CONDITION: blade has areas of original factory finish. Hilt shows light wear and most of the black enamel on the grip has worn away. Scabbard shows light wear just tiny areas of finish loss. (02-25005/BF). NON-GUN. $800-1,200.
