^Lot 1648 GERMAN OFFICER'S CANE WITH PRESENTATION BOAR'S

TUSK HANDLE.This 37" cane has a wooden shaft of dark dense wood that is possibly ebony. The tip of the cane is carved bone and the handle of the cane is made from a scrimshawed boar's tusk. There is a 1 1/2" silver ferrule connecting the cane body to the tusk. The tusk is scrimshawed with a WWII German Luftwaffe eagle and the name "Lt. Gustau 'Gus' Wolff". The tusk is further engraved "1940", "9/J G54 am Kanal Im Floftcage De_ Reichsbahn." with a German Reichbahn winged locomotive wheel. CONDITION: shaft of cane shows light wear. The tip is cracked and the tusk shows a few tight shrinkage cracks, but has no losses. (02-25767/BF). NON-GUN. $800-1,200.
