Lot 1639 WWII GERMAN ARMY OFFICERS DAGGER BY ALCOSO WITH

ALBER KUHL DISTRIBUTOR ENGRAVED BLADE. Alexander Coppel Co. (Alcoso) produced large numbers of army pattern daggers during WWII. This example was distributed by ALBERT KUHL, MUSTER I/W ESSEN and is etched as such on the front blade flat. The blade carries the ALCOSO / ACS (surrounding scales) / SOLINGEN trademark. The Alcoso crossguard pattern utilized from 1937-40, ferrules, and 14 leaf narrow neck pommel are silver plated. Pumkin orange solid celluloid grips. The dagger is mated with a silver plated Eickhorn style scabbard with oak leaf motif bands, stippled panels, and single screw thick throat. CONDITION: overall good. Blade is good/fair with polished shallow pits, scabbard scuffing, and very good crisp markings. The blade has a bend when examined from its side profile. Fittings are very good + with some light handling marks and mild bubbling. Grips are good with a small tight 3/8" crack at the guard. The scabbard is very good with the plating showing a nice tarnished silvering. (02-24966/ZAL). NON-GUN. $400-600.
