Lot 1619 WWII GERMAN 2ND MODEL LUFTWAFFE DAGGER BY WKC.

WKC was founded in 1883 and became one of the largest Solingen based edged weapon makers in the early 1900's continuing to produce German daggers and swords through the war. This example is mounted with zinc pommel and guard. The blade is trademarked with a Knight / WKC / SOLINGEN. The grips are white celluloid with aluminum wire wrap. The scabbard has the correct oval shaped throat attached with single side screw as found on WKC scabbards. CONDITION: overall fine. The blade is very fine with only the faintest of scabbard rub, and 1 very fine pit that looks to be a mfg defect, and crisp marking. The guard and pommel are very good exhibiting some high edge wear and minor handling marks. Grips are fine with some small chips (less than 1/8") in the area of the first wrap from the pommel. Wrap is very fine with only some minor deformation in the area of the previously mentioned chips. Scabbard is very good with traces of the airplane gray plating in the protected areas and some minor handling marks. (02-24939/ZAL). NON-GUN. $400-600.
