^Lot 1601 WWII GERMAN M1936 CHAINED SS OFFICER'S DAGGER.

A very fine and scarce WWII German SS officer's chained dagger with an overall length: 14 7/8". Blade is etched "Meine Ehre Heisst Treue". The blade has no maker's mark, as is normally seen on the chained SS dagger. Plated crossguard and pommel guard with blackened wood grip. Grip has an inset eagle and black enameled SS button near the top. Scabbard shows a black enameled finish with plated mounts. The nickel silver chain is non-magnetic featuring alternate links bearing SS runes and the death's head insignia. The rune link nearest the throat has the SS runic proof inside a square with chamfered corners on the reverse. CONDITION: blade shows scabbard wear mixed with the remaining original factory finish. Mounts retain nearly all of their original finish. Scabbard shows light overall wear with some minor finish loss. The clip at the top of the chain is missing its spring. (02-24999/BF).
