^Lot 1600 WWII GERMAN M1936 CHAINED SS OFFICER'S DAGGER.

A very fine and scarce WWII German SS officer's chained dagger with an overall length: 14 3/4". Blade is etched "Meine Ehre Heisst Treue". The blade has no maker's mark, as is normally seen on the chained SS dagger. Nickel silver crossguard and pommel guard with blackened wood grip. Grip has an inset eagle and black enameled SS button near the top. Scabbard shows a black anodized finish with plated mounts. The plated chain is magnetic featuring alternate links bearing SS runes and the death's head insignia. The rune link nearest the throat has the SS runic proof inside a square with chamfered corners on the reverse. CONDITION: blade shows scabbard wear mixed with original factory finish and sporadic very light staining. Mounts retain nearly all of their original finish and the ball at the base of the scabbard has a minor dent at the extreme base. Scabbard shows light overall wear with some finish loss.
