A very nice example of a WWII German Kriegsmarine dagger measuring 16 1/2" overall with a etched blade marked " PAUL WEYERSBERB & CO. SOLINGEN ". Etching includes nautical and decorative motifs. Gilded brass crossguard with central anchor in rectangle. Gilded brass pommel depicting an eagle with Party symbol. Off white wire wrapped grip. Gilded brass scabbard with lightning bolt motif. CONDITION: blade retains a pleasing finish and the etching is clear and crisp. Hilt shows light wear with portions of the gilded finish remaining. Grip is undamaged. Scabbard retains original gilded finish in the protected areas. (02-24960/BF). NON-GUN. $600-900.
