Lot of 4 assorted Socket bayonets, including: 1) U.S. socket bayonet. Top flat is marked "US". Blade measures 18 1/2" from the point to the rear of the elbow, with an overall length of 21". Complete with steel scabbard. CONDITION: bayonet exhibits a mottled gray patina and light pitting, with moderate pitting present on the socket ring. Scabbard exhibits moderate oxidation along the underside and around the rear. 2) U.S. socket bayonet. Top flat is marked with a partially discernible "US". Blade measures 18 3/8" from the point to the rear of the elbow with an overall length of 20 3/4". CONDITION: blade exhibits consistent moderate pitting overall. 3) Unmarked reproduction triangular socket bayonet. Blade measures 13 1/2" with an overall length of 18 7/8". CONDITION: bayonet retains a bright polished appearance, with some scattered spots and patches of light surface oxidation. 4) Unmarked socket bayonet. Blade measures 16 3/8" from the point to the rear of the elbow with an overall length of 18 5/8". Locking ring is a reproduction. Complete with a reproduction brown leather scabbard. CONDITION: bayonet exhibits a bright polished appearance, with consistent light pitting and spots of oxidation present overall. Scabbard remains malleable, with some scattered handling marks.
