Lot 1584 LOT OF 4 GERMAN WWI & WWII BAYONETS.

Lot of 4 German World War I & World War II bayonets, including: 1) M1898/05 "Sagerucken Abgeschliffen" (Sawback Removed) bayonet mfg. by Mauser. Left side of the ricasso is marked with a partially illegible "WAFFENFABRIK/ MAUSER A.G./ OBERNDORF a.N.". Rear of spine is marked with a Crown/W above "15" and a Imperial German military acceptance proof. Metal components have been cleaned and are in-the-white. 2-piece grooved wood grip scales. CONDITION: metal components retain a mostly bright appearance, exhibiting scattered spots of oxidation, varying degrees of pitting, as well as spots of age related discoloration. Grips show scattered marks and impressions, with a small chip on the left panel at the pommel. 2) M1884/98 K98k bayonet mfg. by Richard Herder in 1942. Left side of the ricasso is marked with the mfg. code "clc", followed by "1942". Pommel is marked with 2 Eagle/WaA519 proofs. Metal components exhibit a blue finish overall. 1-piece grooved brown synthetic grip scales. Complete with matching blued steel scabbard. CONDITION: blade is good, with mild scabbard wear. Guard and pommel exhibit light to mild surface oxidation. Grip scales show some light superficial handling marks. Scabbard shows light to mild wear, with scattered spots of surface oxidation. 3) M1884/98 K98k bayonet mfg. by Ernst Pack & Sohne in 1935. Left side of the ricasso is marked with the mfg. code "S/177", followed by a "G" (1935) date code. Pommel is marked with 2 eagle proofs. Metal components exhibit a reapplied blue finish overall. 2-piece plain wood grip scales. Complete with non-matching blued steel scabbard. CONDITION: blade retains the majority of its reapplied blue, showing a few areas of mild wear. Guard and pommel retain fair amounts of reapplied blue, showing wear, oxidation, and pitting overall. Scabbard shows scattered spots of surface oxidation, while missing its hanger and screw. 4) M1884/98 K98k bayonet mfg. by Paul Weyersberg & Co. Left side of the ricasso is marked "PAUL WEYERSBURG/ & Co/ SOLINGEN", with the S# above "DRP" marked on the right. Metal components exhibit a blue finish overall. 2-piece plain wood grip scales. Complete with blued steel scabbard (S# illegible or not present) with unmarked black leather frog. CONDITION: blade is excellent, retaining the vast majority of its original blue finish, showing some areas of hardened grease. Guard and pommel exhibit scattered spots and patches of varying degrees of oxidation. Grip scales show some scattered marks and impressions. Scabbard shows scattered spots of light to mild surface oxidation overall. Frog remains malleable, exhibiting scattered handling marks and some spots of crazing. (02-24627-3/MLW). NON-GUN. $300-600.
