Lot 1583 LOT OF ASSORTED BRITISH MILITARY BAYONETS.

Lot of assorted British military bayonets, including: 1) x1 No. 9 Mk I blade bayonet mfg. by Enfield. Left side of the lug is marked "NO9Mk1" above "(ENFIELD "ED) - 53". Complete with matching steel scabbard. CONDITION: blade shows scattered areas of light pitting, with flaking to its black enamel finish. Scabbard is good, with general overall wear. 2) x6 No. 4 Mk II spike pattern bayonets with scabbards. CONDITION: bayonets exhibit varying degrees of wear, oxidation, and pitting, but otherwise remain sound. 3) x6 No. 4 Mk II bayonets without scabbards. CONDITION: good, with varying degrees of wear, as well as light surface oxidation and pitting. 4) x1 Australian SMLE 1907 Pattern blade bayonet mfg. by Lithgow. Left side of ricasso is marked with a partially visible shield above "LITHGOW", with Australian proofs marked on the right. Metal components exhibit a parkerized finish overall. 2-piece plain wood grip scales are marked "SLAZ/ 55" (for Slazenger) on each panel. Scabbard is absent. CONDITION: good, with metal components retaining the vast majority of their arsenal reapplied parkerized finish, showing some light wear and a few spots of light surface oxidation. 5) x1 British Pattern 1888 bayonet. Sides are ricasso are marked with assorted British proofs. Right side of pommel is marked "1 YK/ 139". 2-piece plain wood grip scales secured via 2 brass rivets. Right panel marked "108". Complete with British proofed black leather sheath with steel fittings. CONDITION: blade has been cleaned and is in-the-white, showing light to mild surface oxidation overall. Grip scales show scattered handling marks, with a large crack and chip on the left panel. Scabbard remains malleable, with metal fittings exhibiting a gray patina, as well as light to mild pitting overall. (02-24627-2/MLW). NON-GUN. $300-600.
