Lot 1582 LOT OF ASSORTED FOREIGN MILITARY RIFLE BAYONETS.
Lot of assorted foreign military rifle bayonets, including: 1) Persian M98/29 Mauser bayonet. Underside of pommel is marked with a Persian crown above Farsi characters. Metal components are properly polished in-the-white. 2-piece plain wood grip scales. Complete with unmarked blued steel scabbard. CONDITION: blade is near excellent, retaining a bright appearance. Guard and pommel are good, showing scattered spots of light surface oxidation. Grip scales show some scattered handling marks. Scabbard is very good, with some scattered superficial handling marks and spots of light surface oxidation. 2) Siamese/Thai M1896 Mauser pattern blade bayonet. Right side of ricasso is marked with Thai characters. 2-piece plain wood riveted grip scales. Complete with steel scabbard. CONDITION: metal components have faded to a mottled gray patina, showing areas of light pitting and oxidation. Grips show scattered handling marks and wear. 3) Siamese/Thai M1896 blade bayonet. Right side of ricasso is marked with Thai characters. Blade is in-the-white, with the guard and pommel being blued. 2-piece plain wood grip scales retained via 2-screws. Complete with blued steel scabbard. CONDITION: blade has acquired a mottled gray patina, showing scattered spots of light pitting and age related discoloration. Guard and pommel are good, exhibiting some wear and retaining some lacquer. Grip scales show a few marks and minor impressions, but otherwise remain sound. Scabbard shows some wear, with areas of remaining lacquer. 4) Czech vz.24 Mauser pattern bayonet. Left side of the ricasso is marked "csz/ p". 2-piece plain wood grip scales. Complete with blued steel scabbard. CONDITION: blade is covered in a thick layer of apparent grease, with scattered patches/areas of dark oxidation. Guard and pommel exhibit a gray patina, with light to mild surface oxidation. Grip scales show scattered marks and impressions, but otherwise remain sound. Scabbard shows areas of light to moderate oxidation. 5) Czech vz.24 Mauser bayonet. Left side of ricasso is marked "csz/ p". Blade is polished in-the-white. 2-piece plain wood grip scales. Complete with blued steel scabbard. CONDITION: blade exhibits a layer of grease, with a patch of oxidation at the rear. Guard and pommel exhibit varying degrees of surface oxidation. Grips show general wear with scattered cracks. Scabbard exhibits scattered spots of surface oxidation. 6) Imperial Japanese Type 30 bayonet. Right side of the ricasso is marked with the Kokura/Koishikawa arsenal insignia. Butt is stamped with an unidentified encircled character, followed by "1117". Blade is polished in-the-white. Hooked quillon guard. 2-piece plain wood grip scales. Complete with steel scabbard. CONDITION: blade exhibits scattered spots and areas of light pitting and age related discoloration. Guard and pommel have faded to a gray patina with scattered spots of oxidation, pitting, and age related discoloration. Grips show some superficial handling marks, but otherwise remain sound. Scabbard exhibits a dark gray patina, with varying degrees of oxidation and pitting. 7) Rare Finnish M/27 bayonet mfg. by Hackman & Co. Left side of the ricasso is marked "HACKMAN & Co", with an apparent "(KF)" proof marked on the left side of the crossguard. Blade is polished in-the-white, with the guard and pommel exhibiting a blue finish. 2-piece riveted wood grip scales. Complete with grooved blued steel scabbard. CONDITION: blade retains a bright appearance, exhibiting a few small spots of light surface oxidation and age related discoloration. Guard and pommel exhibit wear and thinning, with scattered spots/patches of light surface oxidation. Scabbard is very good, showing scattered surface oxidation. 8) Italian M1891 pattern bayonet mfg. by C Gnutti in 1942. Right side of the crossguard is marked "C GNUTTI 1942", with "AL 4086" on the reverse. Metal components exhibit a black enamel finish. 2-piece plain wood grip scales. Complete with brown leather scabbard marked "R.E.T.1940" on the rear. CONDITION: blade exhibits flaking and sharpening marks with scattered spots of surface oxidation. Guard and pommel exhibit consistent surface oxidation overall. Grips show scattered handling marks and spots of apparent white paint. Scabbard remains sound, with crazing and wear. 9) Possibly Spanish mfg. Mauser pattern bayonet. Right side of ricasso exhibits a partially legible marking that appears to read "P.R.8./ 7203". Grip scales are absent. CONDITION: bayonet exhibits consistent moderate pitting and oxidation overall. (02-24627-7/MLW). NON-GUN. $400-800.
