Lot 1574 AUSTRIAN 1873/77 EXTRA KORPS WERNDL CARBINE.

Cal. 11mm Werndl. S# 4495G. Bbl. 22 1/2". Blade front sight. Ladder rear sight graduated to 600 Schritt. Matching numbers on left side of action, hammer, breechblock & left side of rear sight base. Right side of lock has 1882 date. Bbl. rear has "Wn 84" acceptance stmap. Top of bbl. has "OEWG" Steyr stamp. Hardwood stock set with bottom mounted sling swivels & leather sling that appears more modern. Buttplate tang has unit marking that reads "6.C.A.R./68". Ramrod present that is matching numbered to rifle on tip. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: 1867 Extra Korps Socket bayonet that is numbered matching to gun with matching numbered leather scabbard. Bayonet appears to have been cleaned long ago with scattered oxidation & pitting. Scabbard shows scattered flaking, crazing & age related wear. CONDITION: stock has added finish with a thin small crack ahead of lock, scattered flaking, dings, handling marks & scratches. Metal has a cleaned gray appearance with scattered oxidation, scratches, light pitting, edge wear & some varnish overrun. Action functions properly when hand cycled.
