Cal. 11mm Werndl. S# 868. Bbl. 33". Ladder rear sight graduated to 1400 Schritt. Lock appears to have 1868 date. Rear of bbl. has "ST 70" marking. Buttplate has unit marking that reads "65LST/21 35". Walnut stock set with bottom mounted sling swivels & leather sling. Ramrod present. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: Werndl bayonet with scabbard. Cross guard has unit marking that rears "36R. 2.8/7.188". Blade appears cleaned to bright with scattered oxidation & scratches. Other metal parts of bayonet are a gray oxidized patina with some pitting. Grip panels show heavy handling wear. Scabbard has black enamel finish with scattered flaking & oxidation. CONDITION: stock has arsenal type finish with scattered dings, scratches & handling wear. Metal is an overall dull gray patina with scattered oxidation, handling marks & edge wear. Action functions properly when hand cycled. Bore shows scattered oxidation & pitting but strong rifling.
