^Lot 1569 RARE ISRAELI GEW 98 BOLT ACTION TRAINING RIFLE

Cal. 22 LR. S# 9878T. Bbl. 25" Remington made. Blade front sight with hood. Ladder K98k rear sight graduated to 2000m. Matching numbers on bbl. collar, left side of butt & trigger guard. Other parts have mixed numbers. Rare early K98k Israeli training rifle built using a variety of parts including a WW1 Gew 98 receiver, Remington bbl., Czech large trigger guard & finger groove stock. Parkerized finish. Beech stock with red stripe on butt & "0.22" stamp on underside. Old metal hang tang present that could be easily removed if one desired. CONDITION: stock set has arsenal rework type finish with some chipping behind upper tang, a couple armorer type spliced repairs near rear of bbl., scattered dings, worn finish & handling marks. Metal retains 40% arsenal rework parkerized finish with overall fading, edge wear, some handling marks & light oxidation. Safety is only functional in first position but action is otherwise functional when hand cycled. Bore is mostly bright but shows a few patches of light pitting & frosting.
