Lot 1567 IMPERIAL JAPANESE CHUO KOGYO TYPE 94 NAMBU
SEMI-AUTOMATIC PISTOL. Cal. 8mm Nambu. S# 48284. Bbl. 3 3/4". Type 94 Nambu semi-automatic pistol mfg. by Chuo Kogyo in 1944. Left side of the frame exhibits Kanji characters denoting the model designation, with the Showa date of mfg. "19.2" (February of 1944), Chuo Kogyo arsenal insignia, and S# marked on the right. Metal components exhibit a salt blue finish overall, save for on the bbl., locking block, firing pin, and recoil spring collar, which are polished in-the-white. Frame is mounted with 2-piece checkered black synthetic grips. Dovetailed blade front sight with integral square notch rear sight on frame. All serialized parts are matching and include the frame, slide, bbl., locking block, and breech bolt. MAGS: 1 blued matching 8-rd. CONDITION: metal components retain the majority of their original arsenal salt blue finish, showing some areas of mild wear and thinning, with scattered spots of light to mild surface oxidation. Grip straps exhibit areas of wear that are fading to gray patina. Very bright bore, exhibiting some mild pitting around the muzzle area, while retaining strong rifling throughout. Proper manual mechanics. Grips show some smoothing, as well as some superficial marks from handling and storage, but otherwise remain sound. (25-4553/MLW). CURIO. $600-800.
