Lot 1546 LIKELY CHINESE CONTRACT FABRIQUE NATIONALE HIGH

POWER SEMI-AUTOMATIC PISTOL. Cal. 9x19mm. S# 7868. Bbl. 4 5/8". High Power semi-automatic pistol mfg. in Belgium by Fabrique Nationale, likely under contract for the Chinese Nationalist military, with the first shipment of High Powers to China falling approx. within the 6000-9500 S# range. The left side of the slide is marked with standard FN markings and proofs, with proofs repeated on the frame and bbl. Front grip strap is marked with an illegible importer marking. Metal components exhibit a reapplied blue finish overall, save for on the bbl., which is polished in-the-white. Slotted frame is mounted with 2-piece aftermarket checkered wood grips. Dovetailed blade front sight, with Type 2 V-notch tangent rear sight graduated 50-500. All serialized parts are matching and include the frame, slide, and bbl. (left). MAGS: 1 later production 13-rd. mag., with black synthetic follower, phosphate finish mag. body, and black button type floorplate. CONDITION: metal components retain the majority of their reapplied blue finish, showing small areas of wear and thinning, with cleaning striations and pitting present beneath the finish overall. Bore exhibits consistent light pitting and some scattered spots of mild pitting, while retaining strong rifling throughout. Proper manual mechanics. Aftermarket grips are excellent. (25-2649/MLW).
