Lot 1544 EXTREMELY FINE & RARE "GECO" MARKED FABRIQUE

NATIONALE HIGH POWER SEMI-AUTOMATIC PISTOL. Cal. 9mm Luger. S# T174964. Bbl. 4 5/8". High Power semi-automatic pistol mfg. by Fabrique Nationale and imported into West Germany by GECO (Trade name of Gustav Genschow & Co.) in 1967. The left side of the slide is marked "FABRIQUE NATIONALE D'ARMES DE GUERRE HERSTAL - BELGIQUE/ BROWNING'S PATENT DEPOSE". Left side of the forward trigger guard is marked with the GECO logo, with Belgian commercial proofs marked on the right (also present on the right side of the bbl.). Metal components exhibit a blue finish overall, save for on the bbl., which is polished in-the-white. Frame is mounted with 2-piece checkered black synthetic grips. Slide features an external extractor, with a fixed half-moon blade front sight, and dovetailed V-notch rear sight. All serialized parts are matching in the "stacked" fashion, and include the frame, slide, and bbl. MAGS: 1 matte blue mag., with black enamel finished button type floorplate. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: notes from Charles Wagner detailing this variation. CONDITION: extremely fine, with metal components retaining bountiful amounts of their original factory blue finish overall, save for a few diminutive spots of very light wear on forward edges, and a few minute superficial handling marks overall. Brilliant mirror bore, exhibiting some spots of grease, while retaining well defined rifling throughout. Grips show some light superficial marks from handling and storage, but are otherwise very good overall. An exceptional "GECO" marked High Power semi-automatic pistol.
