Lot 1538 HONDURAN ARMY CONTRACT FABRIQUE NATIONALE
HIGH POWER SEMI-AUTOMATIC PISTOL. Cal. 9mm Luger. S# 76C96781. Bbl. 4 5/8". Possibly the only known High Power semi-automatic pistol mfg. by Fabrique Nationale under contract for the Honduran army in the U.S. The left side of the slide is marked "FABRIQUE NATIONALE HERSTAL BELGIQUE/ BROWNING'S PATENT DEPOSE", with the Honduran coat of arms above "EJERCITO DE HONDURAS" marked over the top, towards the rear sight. Metal components exhibit a black enamel type finish (applied over a phosphate finish) overall, save for on the 2-piece bbl., which is polished in-the-white. Trigger exhibits a blue finish. Frame is mounted with 2-piece checkered black synthetic grips, and features a lanyard stud (ring absent) on the left side. Slide features an external extractor, with a fixed half-moon blade front sight, and dovetailed square notch rear sight. All serialized parts are matching and include the frame, slide, and bbl. MAGS: 1 blued 13-rd. mag., with black enamel finished button type floorplate. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: notes from Charles Wagner. CONDITION: metal components retain the majority of their black enamel finish, exhibiting areas of wear and thinning (primarily on edges) that show through to gray patina, with scattered superficial handling marks and some spots of minor flaking present overall. Bore is bright, exhibiting scattered spots of moderate pitting, while retaining strong rifling throughout. Grips show scattered superficial marks from handling and storage, but otherwise remain sturdy and serviceable. PROVENANCE: The Estate Collection of Charles Wagner. (25-433/MLW). MODERN. $1,500-2,500.
