Lot 1535 WEST GERMAN POLICE CONTRACT FABRIQUE NATIONALE
HIGH POWER SEMI-AUTOMATIC PISTOL WITH MATCHING HOLSTER & MAGAZINES. Cal. 9mm Luger. S# 33980. Bbl. 4 5/8". High Power semi-automatic pistol mfg. by Fabrique Nationale under contract for the West German police. The left side of the slide is marked "FABRIQUE NATIONALE D'ARMES DE GUERRE/ HERSTAL BELGIQUE/ BROWNING'S PATENT DEPOSE". Left side of the frame, slide, and right side of the bbl. exhibit Belgian commercial proofs. Metal components exhibit a blue finish overall, save for on the bbl., which is polished in-the-white. Frame is fitted with 2-piece checkered wood grips, which feature red anti-moisture barrier paint on the interior of the panels. Thumbprint slide features a fixed half-moon blade front sight, with a dovetailed V-notch rear sight. All serialized parts are matching and include the frame, slide, and bbl. MAGS: 2 blued 13-rd. mags., matching via the full S#, which is electro-penciled on the spines. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: black leather West German holster stamped with a matching S# on the rear. Exterior of closure flap is marked with the "GECO" logo, with the interior of the closure flap exhibiting some writing in black ink, which is mostly illegible. CONDITION: metal components retain the majority of their original factory blue finish, exhibiting some areas of light to mild wear and thinning (primarily on edges) and some superficial handling marks, with a small spot of light pitting present on the left side of the frame. Mirror bore, exhibiting scattered spots and areas of hardened grease, while retaining well defined rifling throughout. Grips are very good, showing some light smoothing, as well as a few superficial marks and minor impressions from handling and storage. Holster remains malleable, exhibiting wear, scattered handling marks, as well as some spots/areas of light to mild age related cracking and crazing.
