^Lot 1528 FABRIQUE NATIONALE "DANISH POLICE" CONTRACT HIGH

POWER SEMI-AUTOMATIC PISTOL. Cal. 9mm Luger. S# 23280. Bbl. 4 5/8". High Power semi-automatic pistol mfg. by Fabrique Nationale, seemingly under contract for Denmark. While there are no proofs or markings, nor has any research turned up any documentation suggesting that there was a Danish police contract, it is believe that the Danish police acquired a small number of High Power pistols, with the only notable feature of this High Power having been sent to Denmark being the characteristic serrated blade front sight. The left side of the slide is marked "FABRIQUE NATIONALE D'ARMES DE GUERRE/ HERSTAL BELGIQUE/ BROWNING'S PATENT DEPOSE". Left side of the frame, slide, and right side of the bbl. exhibit Belgian commercial proofs. Metal components exhibit a blue finish overall, save for on the bbl., which is polished in-the-white. Frame is mounted with 2-piece checkered wood grips. Danish pattern serrated blade front sight with dovetailed U-notch rear sight. All serialized parts are matching and include the frame, slide, and bbl. MAGS: 1 blued 13-rd. mag. with black enamel finished button type floorplate. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: unmarked Danish brown leather holster. CONDITION: metal components retain large amounts to the majority of their original factory blue finish, showing spots of light to mild wear and edge wear, scattered superficial handling marks, as well as scattered spots of light surface oxidation overall. Grip straps have mostly faded to a gray patina. Very bright bore, exhibiting some light pitting, while retaining well defined rifling throughout. Proper manual mechanics, save for the mag. safety, which does not function. Grips show light general wear, with some scattered superficial marks and impressions, but otherwise remain sound. Holster remains malleable, exhibiting scattered handling marks and spots of light to mild crazing. Right corner of closure flap's stitching is torn.
