^Lot 1516 FRENCH REWORK K98K MAUSER BOLT ACTION RIFLE.

Cal. 8x57 (8mm Mauser). S# 716. Bbl. 23 1/2". Standard K98k style sights. Front sight slotted for hood but no hood present. Rifle is configured as a ZF-41 marksman rifle with cut in wood & rail on left side of rear sight. One of the action screws & extractor are mismatched. Stock & other action screw appear unnumbered but all other parts are matching to receiver with many being renumbered likely by the French. Receiver ring has "byf 45" marking denoting late war Mauser mfr. Arsenal reblue finish. Laminated stock set with German Naval "O.7313" marking on right side of disc. Left side of butt has added French MAS-36 style sling bar & leather K98k style sling. Cleaning rod present. CONDITION: stock set has arsenal rework finish with large armorer repair at toe, some light chipping behind upper tang, a few laminate cracks on butt, scattered dings & handling marks. Metal retains 80% arsenal rework blue with some cleaning scratches on rear of bbl., scattered fading, edge wear, handling marks & light oxidation. Action functions properly when hand cycled.
