ACTION RIFLE. Cal. 8x57 (8mm Mauser). S# 7137s. Bbl. 23 1/2". Standard K98k style sights with hood on front sight. Matching numbers on rear sight & bolt parts. Other parts are unnumbered as-is correct for Kriegsmodell rifles. Receiver ring has "bnz 45" marking denoting Steyr mfr. in 1945. Bottom metal has "svw" & "byf" subcontractor markings. Bolt parts & rear sight are blued but rest of metal has phosphate finish. Walnut stock set with elm handguard. Right side of butt has correct eagle "H" cartouche. Left side sling provisions with K98k style sling. CONDITION: stock set has dark oil finish with areas of finish wear, some dings & handling marks. Metal retains 93-95% original phosphate & blued finishes with some light fading, oxidation staining, edge & handling wear. Action functions properly when hand cycled.
