Cal. 8x57 (8mm Mauser). S# 6973c. Bbl. 19 1/4". Standard G33/40 sights without front sight hood. Matching numbers on receiver, bolt & stock. Extractor is unnumbered & "S/42" marked & likely replaced. Receiver ring marked "dot 1942" denoting 1942 mfr. by Waffen Werke Brunn I. Blued finish. Laminated stock set with left side sling provisions. No cleaning rod present. No visible inspection stamps on stock. CONDITION: stock appears lightly sanded with a small handguard crack ahead of rear sight, a small split behind upper tang, scattered dings & handling marks. Metal retains 30% original blue with some light scratches on receiver, overall fading to gray, scattered edge wear & oxidation. Action functions properly when hand cycled. Bore shows scattered oxidation & pitting but good rifling. (25-6177/MJC). CURIO. $2,000-3,000.
