Cal. 8mm Mauser. S# 8521t. Bbl. 23 1/2". Blade front sight with replacement hood. Tangent rear sight graduated to 2000m. Rifle is assembled to resemble a swept back sniper rifle with matching repro mount & repro ZF4 scope. Scope has crosshair reticle & cloudy optics with green tint. Repro lens covers also present. Matching numbers on bbl., trigger guard, front band, bolt handle, cocking piece, rear sight parts, & bolt sleeve. Front band & other numbered parts are possibly renumbered to match. Other visible parts are unnumbered & safety is a repro "Key" safety. Receiver top has "ce 44" markings denoting 1944 JP Sauer mfr. Several markings have added white highlight. Blued & phosphate finishes. Laminated stock set with left side sling provisions. Right side of butt has a faint German eagle stamp that appears to be over "WaA135". Cleaning rod present. CONDITION: refinished stock set has added finish with loose rear band, a small chip behind upper tang, scattered dings & handling marks. Metal has a cleaned gray appearance with some touch up blue, scattered oxidation, traces of finish & light pitting. Key safety is functional but very stiff. Action is otherwise functional when hand cycled. Bore shows scattered frosting & pitting but strong rifling. (25-2255/MJC). CURIO. $1,000-1500.
