^Lot 1501 ASSEMBLED K98k HIGH TURRET BOLT ACTION SNIPER

RIFLE. Cal. 8mm Mauser. S# 6799i. Bbl. 23 1/2". Blade front sight without hood. Tangent rear sight graduated to 2000m. Rifle is assembled as a turret mount sniper rifle with a Busch Visar 6x power scope. Scope has post reticle & green tinted optics. Tube of scope is fading to gray with oxidation & may have old touch up finish. Receiver & bbl. appear to be of JP Sauer mfr. with "77" & "359" inspection stamps. Matching numbers on bbl., bolt parts, bolt stop, floorplate, buttplate, front band, action screws, front sight & trigger guard. Some of these parts have been renumbered to match in a modern font. Other parts appear mismatched or unnumbered. Blued finish with touch up. Replacement laminated stock set with left side sling provisions, "dot" marked handguard & leather sling. No cleaning rod or locking screws present. CONDITION: refinished stock set has very faint inspection stamps with some handling marks. Metal retains 40% reblue with overall fading to gray, scattered oxidation & edge wear. Safety not engaging properly but bolt otherwise is functional when hand cycled. Bore shows scattered oxidation & frosting but evident rifling. (25-2253/MJC). CURIO. $4,000-6,000.
