Lot 1496 GERMAN WWII ISSUE FERMARU "JHV" CODE MODEL 37

SEMI-AUTOMATIC PISTOL WITH HOLSTER & MATCHING MAGAZINE. Cal. 7.65mm. S# 38276. Bbl. 3 15/16". Model 37 semi-automatic pistol mfg. in Hungary by Femaru in 1941 for the German military. The left side of the slide is marked "P.Mod.37,Kal. 7,65.", followed by an eagle firing proof, as well as Femaru's mfg. code and the 2-digit year of mfg. "jhv/ 41". Left side of the forward trigger guard web is marked with an Eagle/WaA58 proof. Metal components exhibit a high polish blue finish overall. Frame is mounted with 2-piece grooved wood grips, retained by a single strawed grip screw. Slide features a matte rib, with a dovetailed blade front sight and integral V-notch rear sight. Frame features a grip safety, hinged lanyard ring, and heel mag. release. All serialized parts are matching and include the frame, slide, and bbl. MAGS: 2 7-rd. mags. with 6 transverse indictor holes and grip extension. 1 mag. is matching, with the spare mag. numbered "54902". UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: unmarked brown leather holster. CONDITION: metal components retain the majority of their original factory blue finish, showing some areas of wear and thinning overall. Forward edges and underside of slide exhibit spots/areas of mild pitting. Mirror bore, exhibiting a few small spots of light pitting, while retaining well defined rifling throughout. Grips show some superficial marks from handling and storage, but are otherwise very good. Holster remains malleable, exhibiting areas of age related cracking with scattered spots of light to mild crazing. (25-4245/MLW). CURIO. $800-1,400.
