Lot 1494 GERMAN OCCUPATION RADOM VIS.35 SEMI-AUTOMATIC
PISTOL. Cal. 9x19mm. S# A0975. Bbl. 4 5/8". Vis.35 (German designation "P.35(p)" ) semi-automatic pistol mfg. while under German occupation at the Radom arsenal and assembled by Steyr. The left side of the slide is marked with a Radom Eagle/77 proof (repeated on the left side of the frame), followed by "F.B.RADOM VIS Moid.35.Pat.Nr.15567", an eagle firing proof, as well as a Steyr Eagle/623 proof. Left side of the bbl. lug is marked with a partially discernible (partially over stamped by the S#) Steyr Eagle/623 proof and an eagle firing proof. Metal components exhibit a blue finish overall, save for on the bbl., which is polished in-the-white. Frame is mounted with 2-piece checkered brown synthetic grips, with "FB" on the left and "VIS" on the right. Slide features a matte rib, with an integral blade front sight and dovetailed V-notch rear sight. All serialized parts are matching and include the frame, grip safety (right), slide (interior), as well as the bbl. (left side of lug). MAGS: 1 blued 8-rd. mag., marked with an Eagle/169 proof on the bottom of the floorplate. CONDITION: metal components retain large amounts of their original arsenal blue finish, showing areas of wear and thinning that are fading to gray patina, with scattered spots of mild to moderate pitting present on the left side of the slide at the front and rear edges. Grip straps have worn to a mottled gray patina. Bore is bright, exhibiting some spots of mild pitting, while retaining well defined rifling throughout. Proper manual mechanics, including the slide decocker. Grips show mild smoothing and some scattered marks from handling and storage, but otherwise remain sturdy and serviceable. (25-2702/MLW).
