REICHSREVOLVER WITH ORIGINAL HOLSTER. Cal. 10.6x25mmR. S# 134s. Bbl. 4 5/8". Model 1883 Reichsrevolver mfg. by V.C. Schilling & C.G. Haenel. Left side of the faceted breech section of the bbl. is marked with a Bavarian "GF" acceptance proof (repeated on rear face of cyl.) preceding the S#. The left frame sideplate is marked with the S#, followed by "V.C.S. * C.G.H./ SUHL" within an oval. Butt of frame is stamped with an imperial crowned fraktur proof on either side of the lanyard stud. Metal components exhibit a polished blue finish overall, save for on the hammer, trigger, and cyl. base pin, which are polished in-the-white. Safety lever exhibits a nitre blue finish. Frame is mounted with 2-piece checkered wood grips. Interior of left grip panel exhibits a hand written "BOB MUELLER/ 9 FEB 1994" in pencil. Integral blade front sight and frame V-notch rear sight. All serialized parts are matching and include the frame, frame sideplate, bbl., cyl., cyl. base pin, cyl. base pin latch pin, loading gate assembly, frame screws, trigger guard, safety lever, safety lever screw, internal parts (trigger, cyl. stop, hand assembly, trigger, mainspring), grips, as well as the grip screw escutcheons. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: unmarked period brown leather holster, featuring a 6-cell cartridge pouch on the front of the body, containing 1 rd. of ammunition. Cartridge pouch is unusual, featuring a leather ball stud for the closure pouch. CONDITION: metal components retain large amounts of their period arsenal blue finish, exhibiting areas of wear and thinning that are fading to gray patina, as well as some scattered spots of light surface oxidation overall. Grip straps have faded to a dark brown patina. In-the-white parts show scattered spots of age related discoloration. Mirror bore, exhibiting a couple of small spots of light pitting, while retaining well defined rifling throughout. Proper manual mechanics. Grips are very good, showing some light smoothing overall.
