Lot 1479 NICE & SCARCE WALTHER "RFV" MARKED MODEL PP
SEMI-AUTOMATIC PISTOL. Cal. 7.65mm. S# 903968. Bbl. 3 13/16". Model PP semi-automatic pistol mfg. by Walther for the Reichsfinanzverwaltung (Reich Finance Ministry) circa. 1936. Left side of the slide is marked with the Walther banner logo, followed by markings stipulating Walther's mfg. information, as well as the model and cal. designations. Front grip strap is engraved "R.F.V.6301 W", indicating issue to the Reich Finance Ministry. Right side of frame (on chamber), slide, and bbl. exhibit a Crown/N commercial nitro proof. Metal components exhibit a blue finish overall, save for on the chamber area of the frame, which is polished in-the-white. Safety / decocking lever exhibits a nitre blue finish. Frame is mounted with 2-piece Walther banner checkered black synthetic grips. Slide features a solid grooved matte rib, with an integral blade front sight and dovetailed U-notch rear sight. Slide matches the frame via the last 3-digits of the S# "968", which are lightly inscribed on the interior, parallel to the ejection port. MAGS: 3 8-rd. mags. 1 mag. with black synthetic grip extension. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: French MAB Model D brown leather holster. CONDITION: metal components retain the majority of their original blue finish, showing some spots of light to mild wear and edge wear, some light superficial handling marks, as well as some spots of very light to light surface oxidation. Safety lever shows spots of mild wear and thinning. Near mirror bore, exhibiting some scattered small spots of light pitting, while retaining strong rifling throughout. Proper manual mechanics, to include the safety / decocking lever. Grips show light to mild smoothing, as well as some superficial handling marks, but otherwise remain sound. Holster remains malleable, exhibiting general overall wear, spots of staining, as well as some age related cracking and crazing. Closure strap exhibits some losses on the right side. (25-5315/MLW).
