HOLSTER. Cal. 8.15mm. S# 63806. Bbl. 5 1/2". C96 Broomhandle semi-automatic pistol mfg. by Mauser, likely in 7.63mm Mauser and later rebarreled to 8.15mm Mauser. The top flat of the chamber is marked with Mauser's mfg. information, with the S# marked on the left quarter flat, and a double crowned "U" commercial proof on the left flat. Top of the bbl. is engraved "KAL. 8.15mm". Right side of the frame is marked with Mauser's mfg. information. Frame is mounted with 2-piece grooved wood grips, which have been sanded and recut. Fixed blade front sight, with tangent V-notch rear sight, graduated 50-1000. Nearly all numbers are matching and include the frame, lock frame, sear & sear arm, hammer, bolt, bolt stop, as well as the bbl. extension. Floorplate and locking block are mis-matched. Firing pin spring is absent. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: likely Chinese mfg. wood shoulder stock and leather harness. Stock has been sanded and revarnished. CONDITION: metal components retain scant traces of their blue finish, with the balance retaining a mottled gray patina, and varying degrees of pitting overall. Poor dark, and pitted bore, retaining trace to fair amounts of rifling throughout. Grips show scattered marks and impressions from handling and storage. Stock exhibits scattered marks and impressions, with a large crack and repair on the button side. (25-1431/MLW). CURIO. $500-1,000.
