Cal. 7.63mm. S# 222191. Bbl. 5 1/2". C96 semi-automatic pistol mfg. by Mauser. Top flat of the faceted breech is marked with Mauser's 3-line address, with the S# marked on the left quarter flat, and a double crowned "U" commercial proof marked on the left. Frame and bbl./bbl. extension exhibit a nicely reapplied blue finish, with some small parts including the trigger, bolt stop housing, and rear sight slide exhibiting a nitre blue finish. Bolt and locking block are polished in-the-white. Sub-frame exhibits a proper dull gray appearance. Frame is mounted with 2-piece grooved wood grips and features a lanyard ring on the butt. Fixed blade front sight and tangent V-notch rear sight graduated 50-1,000. All serialized parts are matching and include the frame, floorplate, sub-frame, hammer, sear, bbl./bbl. extension, bolt, bolt stop, as well as the grips. CONDITION: metal components retain the majority of their reapplied blue finish, showing light to mild edge wear, some superficial handling marks, and scattered spots of light surface oxidation overall. Bbl. exhibits an area/streak of wear that is fading to gray patina on the lower left side. Nitre blue parts retain good amounts of their original finish, showing areas of wear that are fading to gray patina. Bore exhibits consistent light pitting, while retaining strong rifling throughout. Proper manual mechanics. Grips show some scattered marks and minor impressions from handling and storage, but otherwise remain sound. (25-4659/MLW). CURIO. $1,000-1,500.
