Lot 1466 MAUSER C96 MODEL 1930 COMMERCIAL SEMI-AUTOMATIC
PISTOL WITH STOCK & HARNESS. Cal. 7.63mm. S# 917017. Bbl. 5 1/2". C96 Model 1930 Commercial semi-automatic pistol mfg. by Mauser. Top flat of the faceted breech is marked with Mauser's 3-line address, with a double crowned "U" proof (repeated on top of bolt) marked on the left quarter flat. Left side of the frame is marked with the Mauser banner logo on the "island", with "WAFFENFABRIK MAUSER/ OBERNDORF A. NECKAR/ D.R.P.u.A.P." marked on the right. Metal components exhibit a salt blue finish with the bolt being polished in-the-white. Frame is mounted with 2-piece grooved wood grips, and features a lanyard ring on the butt. Standard C96 pattern fixed blade front sight and tangent V-notch rear sight graduated 50-1000. All serialized parts are matching and include the frame, sub-frame, floorplate, as well as the bbl./bbl. extension (top flat, rear of tangent sight). UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: non-matching unmarked C96 wood stock/holster with WWI mfg. harness marked "OSKAR SCHEYHING/ CASSEL/ 1916" on the rear. Stock/holster has been sanded and refinished at one time, and features an apparent period added brown leather belt loop, retained via 6 pins/nails on the lower section. CONDITION: metal components retain the majority of their original factory salt blue finish, exhibiting some areas of wear and thinning fading to gray patina (primarily on edges), scattered superficial handling marks, as well as small some small scattered spots of light to mild pitting. Rear grip strap has been cleaned at one time. Bore is bright, exhibiting scattered spots of light to mild pitting and areas of mild to moderate pitting at the muzzle, while retaining well defined rifling throughout. Proper manual mechanics. Grips show scattered superficial marks and small impressions from handling and storage, with a large impression present on the left panel towards the bottom right edge. Stock shows scattered superficial handling marks, but otherwise remains sound, with metal hardware having faded to a gray patina. Leather harness remains malleable, exhibiting general overall wear, with some areas of age related cracking and crazing. Harness exhibits a small hole at the toe of the putzstock provision.
