PISTOL WITH STOCK/HOLSTER. Cal. 7.63mm. S# 854329. Bbl. 5 1/4". C96 Model 1930 Commercial semi-automatic pistol mfg. by Mauser. Top flat of the faceted breech is marked , with Mauser's 3-line address, with a double crowned "U" commercial proof (repeating on top of bolt) marked on the left quarter flat, and the S# marked on the left flat. "Island" on left side of the frame is marked with the Mauser banner logo, with "WAFFENFABRIK MAUSER/ OBERNDORF A. NECKAR/ D.R.P.u.A.P." marked on the right. Frame and bbl./bbl. extension exhibit a high polish salt blue finish overall, with some small parts including the trigger, rear sight slide, extractor, and grip screw exhibiting a nitre blue finish. Top and rear flats of the bolt are polished in-the-white. Frame is mounted with 2-piece grooved wood grips. Standard integral blade front sight and tangent V-notch rear sight graduated 50-1000. All serialized parts are matching and include the frame, floorplate, and bbl./bbl. extension. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: correct wood should stock marked with the Mauser banner logo on one side. CONDITION: metal components retain the majority of their original salt blue finish, showing some scattered spots of wear and thinning fading to gray patina (primarily on edges and on the bbl.), as well as scattered scratches and superficial handling marks overall. Nitre blue parts retain large amounts of their original finish with wear fading to gray patina in contact areas. Bore is relatively bright, exhibiting consistent mild oxidation/pitting, while retaining strong rifling throughout. Proper manual mechanics. Grips show some scattered superficial marks and impressions from handling and storage, but otherwise remain sound. Stock/holster shows scattered marks and impressions, with a series of impressions present on the obverse side of the Mauser banner logo. (25-5453/MLW). CURIO. $1,500-2,250.
