^Lot 1449 VERY NICE DWM MODEL 1920 COMMERCIAL LUGER

SEMI-AUTOMATIC PISTOL WITH NAVY BARREL. Cal. 9mm Luger. S# 486k. Bbl. 5 7/8". Model 1920 Commercial Luger mfg. by DWM from a variety of surplus and newly mfg. parts and components. Toggle is marked with the "DWM" monogram, with a horizontal Crown/N commercial nitro proof marked on the left. Metal components exhibit a rust blue finish overall, with some small parts including the takedown lever, trigger, safety lever, and ejector exhibiting a straw finish. Frame is mounted with 2-piece checkered wood grips. Standard dovetailed blade front sight on Navy Crown/M proofed bbl. and fixed V-notch rear sight. All serialized parts are matching in the commercial "hidden" fashion and include the frame, takedown lever, sideplate, trigger, hold-open latch, as well as the rear toggle link. MAGS: 1 unnumbered plated 8-rd. with unmarked wood plug. CONDITION: excellent, with metal components retaining the vast majority of their original factory blue finish, exhibiting some light edge wear, as well as a few scattered spots of light wear and thinning overall. Front grip strap exhibits a crack on the left side that is also visible on the interior. Strawed parts retain the majority of their original finish, showing some areas of wear and thinning fading to gray patina with scattered spots of age related discoloration. Trigger appears to have been cleaned and reheated at one time. Mirror bore, exhibiting a couple of small spots of light pitting, while retaining well defined rifling throughout. Proper manual mechanics. Grips show some spots of light smoothing, but otherwise remain very good overall. (25-6565/MLW). CURIO. $1,000-1,500.
