Lot 1436 GERMAN WWI DWM "1917" DATE LP.08 SEMI-AUTOMATIC

PISTOL. Cal. 9x19mm. S# 2641k. Bbl. 7 7/8". LP.08 semi-automatic pistol mfg. by DWM during WWI under contract for the Imperial German military. The bbl. extension is marked with the year of mfg. "1917" over the chamber, with DWM arsenal proofs marked on the right. Toggle is marked with the intertwined "DWM" monogram. Metal components exhibit a rust blue finish overall, with some small parts being strawed. Frame is mounted with 2-piece checkered wood grips. Dovetailed blade front sight with tangent V-notch rear sight, graduated 1-8. Matching numbers are present on the frame, takedown lever, sideplate, trigger, safety lever & bar, bbl., rear sight assembly, bbl. extension, trigger bar, breechblock, extractor, firing pin, toggles, as well as the grips. Hold-open latch matches, with the S# having been applied over a prior S#. Mag. is absent. CONDITION: metal components retain the majority of their arsenal rust blue finish, exhibiting light to mild edge wear, patches of light to mild wear and thinning, scattered superficial handling marks, as well as scattered spots of light to mild pitting and surface oxidation. Bbl. extension exhibits scattered spots/patches of wear at and around the chamber area that are fading to gray patina. Strawed parts retain fair amounts of their finish, showing areas of wear and thinning that are fading to gray patina, as well as scattered spots of light surface oxidation and pitting. Bright bore, exhibiting streaks of light to mild pitting, while retaining good to strong rifling throughout. Proper manual mechanics.
