Lot 1433 HIGH CONDITION GERMAN WWI DWM "1915" DATE P.08

LUGER SEMI-AUTOMATIC PISTOL. Cal. 9x19mm. S# 3527f. Bbl. 3 15/16". P.08 Luger semi-automatic pistol mfg. by DWM under contact for the Imperial German military in 1915. The top of the bbl. extension is marked "1915" over the chamber, with DWM arsenal proofs marked on the right. Toggle is marked with the intertwined "DWM" monogram. Metal components exhibit a rust blue finish overall, with some small parts including the takedown lever, trigger, safety lever, and ejector exhibiting a straw finish. Frame is mounted with 2-piece checkered wood grips. Standard dovetailed blade front sight and fixed V-notch rear sight. All serialized parts are matching and include the frame, takedown lever, sideplate, trigger, safety lever & bar, hold-open latch, bbl., bbl. extension, trigger bar, breechblock, extractor, firing pin, toggles, as well as the grips. MAGS: 1 non-matching (S#: 3420c) 8-rd. mag. with wood plug. CONDITION: metal components retain the vast majority of their original arsenal blue finish, exhibiting some spots of light to mild edge wear, some scattered spots of light surface oxidation, as well as a couple of small spots of light pitting. Front grip strap shows an area of appropriate holster wear at the toe. Strawed parts retain large amounts of their original finish, showing areas of wear fading to gray patina, scattered spots of age related discoloration, and some spots of light pitting. Metal components retain some spots of old grease in protected areas. Near mirror bore, exhibiting some scattered small spots of light pitting, while retaining sharp and well defined rifling throughout. Proper manual mechanics. Grips show some light to mild smoothing, as well as some scattered superficial nicks and marks, but otherwise remain sound. Grip screws have faded to a mottled gray patina.
