PISTOL WITH IDEAL GRIPS. Cal. 7.65x21mm Parabellum. S# 18369. Bbl. 4 3/4". Model 1900 American Eagle Luger mfg. by DWM for commercial sales within the United States. The top of the bbl. extension is marked with the Great Seal of the United States, with the intertwined DWM monogram marked on the toggle. Front of the frame is stamped "GERMANY" below the S#. Left side of the frame is lightly etched "F.A.L.". Metal components exhibit a rust blue finish overall, with some small parts including the takedown lever, trigger, safety lever, extractor, and ejector exhibiting a straw finish. Frame is mounted with 2-piece smooth wood Ideal grips, and features a grip safety. Nitre blue dovetailed blade front sight, with fixed V-notch rear sight. Dished toggles with anti-rebound arm on frame. All serialized parts are matching via the last 2-3 digits of the S# in the proper "hidden" fashion, and include the frame, takedown lever, sideplate, trigger, grip safety, bbl., bbl. extension, breechblock, and toggles. MAGS: 1 plated 8-rd., marked with a small DWM flaming ordnance bomb proof on the underside of the wood bottom. CONDITION: metal components retain the majority of their original factory blue finish, exhibiting areas of wear and thinning that show through to gray and brown patinas, scattered superficial handling marks, as well as scattered spots of light surface oxidation overall. Strawed parts retain good amounts of their original finish, exhibiting areas of wear that show through to gray patina and scattered spots of age related discoloration. Fair bore, exhibiting consistent mild pitting, while retaining strong rifling throughout. Ideal grips show scattered superficial marks from handling and storage, but otherwise remain sturdy and serviceable. (25-1426/MLW). CURIO. $1,000-1,500.
