Cal. 38 Special. S# 6902. Bbl. 4". Commando double action revolver mfg. by Colt for the U.S. military circa. 1942-1943. Left side of the bbl. is marked with the model and cal. designations, with Colt's mfg. and patent information marked across the top. Left side of the frame is marked with a U.S. flaming ordnance bomb above the cyl. latch. Metal components exhibit a parkerized finish overall. Frame is mounted with 2-piece Colt checkered brown synthetic grips. Half-moon blade front sight with frame notched rear sight. All serialized parts are matching and include the frame and cyl. crane. CONDITION: metal components retain the majority of their arsenal parkerized finish, showing some light to mild wear and thinning on either side of the bbl., with scattered spots/patches of light to mild surface oxidation present overall. Near mirror bore, exhibiting some spots of what appears to be either hardened grease or light pitting, while retaining well defined rifling throughout. Proper manual mechanics. Grips show some light smoothing, as well as some superficial handling marks, but otherwise remain sound. (25-5795/MLW). CURIO. $800-1,200.
