AIRES POLICE SEMI AUTO PISTOL. Cal. 22 LR. S# 103213. Pistol originally mfg. 1959. There were 2 companies, Venturini & Macarti, that converted Police Argentine 1927 Sistema .45 pistols to 22 LR utilizing a free floating chamber. This pistol does not have either conversion & is not factory conversion marked. On the bottom of 5" barrel marked "BATAAN"; possible conversion producer. Replacement recoil spring guide & recoil plug, where recoil spring guide has additional hex head screw in rod. Matching S# on top of slide. Checkered walnut grips. MAGS: 1 - 10 rd. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: brown box with wax paper. CONDITION: pistol has an export-reblued finish. Very good grips. Very good shallow rifling. (25-1223). CURIO. $2,000-3,000.
