Lot 1409 EARLY NICKEL PLATED COLT MODEL 1908 VEST POCKET
SEMI-AUTOMATIC PISTOL WITH FACTORY BOX. Cal. 25 ACP. S# 55393. Bbl. 2 1/8". Model 1908 Vest Pocket semi-automatic pistol mfg. by Colt in 1911. Left side of the slide is marked with Colt's 2-line mfg. and patent information, followed by the Rampant Colt logo, with "COLT AUTOMATIC/ CALIBRE 25" marked on the right. Metal components exhibit a nickel plated finish overall, save for on the bbl., which is polished in-the-white. Frame is mounted with 2-piece natural white grips. Fixed blade front sight and square notch rear sight. Slide S# on interior has been obliterated via circular impressions. MAGS: 1 nickel plated 6-rd. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: original unnumbered factory box containing manual / parts list pamphlet. CONDITION: metal components retain the majority of their nickel plated finish, exhibiting superficial handling marks, with scattered spots and a few patches of bubbling and flaking that show through to a dark patina. Bore exhibits consistent mild pitting, while retaining strong rifling throughout. Proper manual mechanics. Grips have acquired a yellow patina, exhibiting some superficial handling marks as well as a few checks. Box exhibits general overall wear, exhibiting some losses (predominately around edges) to the exterior and a tear on the left side of the lid, but otherwise remains sound. End label is mostly absent.
