^Lot 1372 WINCHESTER US MARKED MODEL 1897 PUMP SHOTGUN.

Cal. 12 ga, 2 3/4". S# E936759. Bbl 20" of takedown style with cylinder bore is drilled for a standard bead sight. Top of bbl has flaming bomb acceptance mark. Left side of receiver is marked "U.S." followed by the flaming bomb. Original configuration appears to be riot gun converted to trench gun style with addition of a handguard and bayonet lug. Aftermarket style four row handguard affixed by welding to the bayonet lug. Handguard has a large brass bead. Small round grooved forearm and post war pistol grip stock and buttplate. Left side of stock has "W.B." inspector over a cross cannon acceptance mark. Mfg. 1948. CONDITION: over 80% original blue showing edge and slide wear with spotted finish loss and scratches mostly on the left side of action. Original wood finish shows wear with scratches, dents and marks. Sound mechanics. Very good bright bore. (25-5465/DS). CURIO. $1,500-2,250.
