TRAINING RIFLE. Cal. 22. S# 7627B. Bbl. 24". Rifle has been arsenal converted to the M2 configuration by the addition of a numeral 1 to the M1 marking. The serial number additionally has a suffix B. Bbl. is marked behind front sight "SA / flaming bomb / 6-37". The bbl. is fitted w/ a standard model 1903 ladder rear sight. Ladder is marked "R". Replacement blade front sight in the two piece base. Late type Lyman 48 receiver sight graduated to 105 points. Inside of slide marked "48S" & serial number "620" which does not match base. Bolt is electro-penciled to match rifle. Forward end is marked "M2". Bolt handle marked "NS / M2". All milled furniture except buttplate & butt swivel. Replacement straight grip model 1903A3 buttstock w/ reinforcement pins has faint boxed "FJA" & encircled "P" proof under grip. MAGS: 1 unmarked detachable 5 rd. CONDITION: stock set has moderately worn stock refinish w/ staining & handling marks. Metal retains 80% dark arsenal rework parkerized finish w/ areas of very light oxidation notable on the milled furniture. Bore has a degree of shine w/ strong lands & areas of frosting. (25-1362/RW).
