The receiver produced in 1906 retains its standard bolt stop & cutoff. Rear guard screw is drilled completely through receiver tang. The trigger guard assembly is from a model 1917 rifle. The walnut buttstock is the model 1917 style, but has inletted walnut additions to accommodate the model 1903 receiver. The forend tip has been shortened & modified to accommodate a Krag upper barrel band w/ bayonet lug & stacking swivel. Lower band is from model 1917 rifle. The handguard appears to be European walnut & modified from an unknown rifle. Handguard extends approx. 2" beyond the lower band. CONDITION: buttstock has heavy wear, staining & handling marks w/ slight loss of wood in inletted areas. There is a large 3" crack on the left side over mag. well.
