Lot 1348 BM59 CONVERSION OF U.S. SPRINGFIELD M1 GARAND SEMI
AUTO MILITARY RIFLE. Cal. 7.62x51. S# 1949412. Bbl. 25" including factory muzzle brake. Italian-made barrel marked on right side "SIAU 1967". Barrel has been turned and refinished behind front sight to eliminate import mark. Rifles were modified by Beretta in Italy to accept a detachable 20 rd. magazine & modified to use the 7.62 NATO cartridge including the addition of a filler block in-front of the mag. well. Bolt & modified operating rod are marked "SA". Operating rod has additional "7.62mm 2" mark on the outside right flat. T015E1 rear sight. Blade front sight w/ protective ears. Trigger housing is marked "SA" w/ additional "PB BM 59" marking. Hammer & bolt latch marked "PB BM 59". Unmarked walnut stock set. Buttstock has been modified w/ the addition of a Beretta padded buttplate w/ sliding trap. Butt swivel has been modified to rotate to the left. Buttstock has added filler at the front corners of the receiver ring due to the stocks being inletted for a selective fire conversion which was not used on this rifle. MAGS: none. CONDITION: stock set has moderate wear, staining & handling marks throughout. Metal retains a large percentage of its arsenal rework parkerized finish. Very good shiny bore w/ sharp lands.
