Lot 1322 ASSEMBLED U.S. M1C GARAND SEMI-AUTO SNIPER RIFLE.

Cal. 30-06. S# 472354. Bbl. 24". Barrel is marked on the right side with British export proofs and the original inverted "S-A-1-42" barrel date. Throat and muzzle gauges less than 1.0. Rifle produced in February of 1942. Flush nut aperture rear sight with battle range elevation knob. Blade front sight with protective ears. Sight retains original screw plug. Single slot gas cylinder slot screw. All major parts markings are "SA" including the square cut operating rod without relief notch. Walnut stock set. Buttstock has refreshed boxed "S.A. / EMcF / crossed cannons". Encircled "P" proof under grip and tiny "crossed cannons" at end of grip. Unmarked tan leather lace-on cheek pad not attached with screws. Receiver fitted with Griffin and Howe type dovetail scope mount which holds a K Kahles HELIA 27L2 2.3x7 telescopic sight marked "Made in Austria". Fine crosshair reticle. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: unmarked black leather scope caps. CONDITION: stock set has a moderately worn original finish with its refreshed markings. Metal retains 90% of its original parkerized finish with light wear. Scope has a lightly worn black finish with scattered handling marks. Optics appear slightly cloudy, but serviceable. Scope base screw holes do not appear to be arsenal quality workmanship. Very good shiny bore. (25-6534/RW). CURIO. $1,500-2,250.
