MILITARY SNIPER RIFLE. Cal. 30-06. S# 2472351. Bbl. 24". Marked on the right side "S-A-3-52". Bbl. has been lightly turned behind front sight to remove import marks. Consigner supplied hang-tag w/ matching rifle & scope serial numbers indicates the importer was Federal Ordnance Inc. Bbl. is marked on right side w/ "SA-3-52". Throat & muzzle gauges: 2.0. T105E1 rear sight. Blade front sight w/ protective ears. Sight blade has been reduced in height. Bolt, operating rod & hammer marked "SA". Trigger housing has faint "WRA" due to oxidation. Stamped trigger guard. Stacking swivel is not present. Walnut stock set. Buttstock is marked w/ prominent & encircled Hebrew "Aleph" letter on left side. Stock is marked w/ encircled "P" proof under grip. Stock bedding has been enhanced, similar to what is done for match conditioning. Lace-on leather cheek pad is marked "MRT / 2-52". Green web sling. Rifle has correctly fitted M1D base ahead of receiver. The locating pin has four stake marks. The 50 click scope mount holds an M84 telescope. The telescope is marked on the right side w/ a plate enhanced in white & retained by two slotted screws marked "TELESCOPE / M84 / SERIAL NO. 5403". Scope is equipped w/ sunshade. Rubber eyecup is not present. Latch is broken on the windage knob cover. Cover remains closed due to spring tension. Scope has straight post reticle w/ horizontal crosshair. CONDITION: stock set has a lightly worn arsenal rework type finish w/ scattered handling marks throughout & slight loss of finish inletted areas, notable around buttplate. Metal retains 75% of its lightly worn original finish. Bore has lightly worn lands w/ frosted grooves. Scope retains 70% of its original blue finish w/ wear, spots of missing finish & small scratches. Small area of yellow paint remains behind windage adjustment. Optics are cloudy w/ several dark flecks visible. (25-2827/RW). CURIO. $2,000-3,000.
