MILITARY RIFLE. Cal. 30-06. S# 5828276. Bbl. 24". Barrel is marked on right side "SA 12 62". Barrel is marked "NM" on left side behind front sight. Throat gauges 3.5. Muzzle gauges less than 1.0. All major parts markings are "SA" except operating rod which is marked "RA" and "NM" at top rear. T105E1 rear sight. Sight movable base, adjustable aperture and windage knob are marked "NM". Blade front sight is marked on right side "NM / 062". Gas cylinder marked "NM". Gas cylinder lock marked "M". Single slot gas cylinder lock screw. Stacking swivel is assembled very tight. Stamped trigger guard. Floorplate marked inside with matching "8276". Walnut stock set with glossy finish. Buttstock marked on left side with boxed defense eagle and encircled "P" proof mark under grip. Stock has arsenal quality bedding and is marked inside the barrel channel with the last four digits of serial number. Handguards are fitted tightly to rifle. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: former owner's name on folded sheet of paper and inspection receipt with rifle serial number dated "1967". Competitor number "7124". Also included is a letter dated "2019" from the CMP stating that this rifle was sold July 30th, 1963 as an M1 Garand National Match rifle. This is also a copy of form 1172, rifle sales record corroborating the information in the letter. CONDITION: stock set has light wear and scattered small scratches and handling marks throughout commensurate with careful competitive use.
